Hair Care
The following are general instructions for your Glamour Elite Boutique extensions. The specific texture will determine actual maintenance requirements.
Washing Instructions
We recommend shampooing the hair with the shampoo of your choice before your first install. Carefully wash the hair with lukewarm water. Do not rub or twist the hair as it can cause tangling. After shampooing the hair, we suggest following it up with a conditioner and combing through the hair starting from the ends. After the first install, we recommend co-washing the hair at least once every two weeks with your favorite conditioner.
Daily Maintenance
We recommend detangling your hair by using a wide tooth comb or paddle brush, starting at the ends of the hair working your way up to the weft. Always wrap or cover your extensions at night with a silk scarf or bonnet. Limit the amount of oils or products used on the hair to avoid product build up and weighing down the hair.
Curly Hair Maintenance
When washing your curly hair, do not rub or twist the hair. We recommend using a moisturizing conditioner once a week. When the hair is wet, scrunch it to enhance the curls. Allow the hair to air dry and use a dime size amount of an alcohol free serum to prevent frizzing. Do not comb or brush the hair while dry. This will prevent the hair from frizzing, tangling or breaking off. Try to avoid excessively using oil products; they will cause the hair to matte and become weighed down.
Lace Frontals, Lace Closures and Lace Wigs
It is important to understand that lace is very delicate and can easily be damaged if not cared for properly. Over processing the knots on the lace can cause the hair to shed. The lace is not meant to last forever and will eventually need to be replaced. With proper care, your lace should last at least 4-5 installs. Please understand that eventually the lace will begin to shed.
